8 Things For Productive Jazz Guitar Practice Sessions.
1 – The Dimensions of Your room.
The dimension of the room you decide practice in is important though it really depends on your tastes, personality and what you need to do.
I prefer better in a compact room but you might want to stand, dance walk, around etc.
2 – The Lighting
The right level of light in your practice space is very important and it should be one of your main concerns especially if you need music sheets for your jazz guitar practice sessions.
3 – There Should Be Zero Distractions
Your smart phone shouldn’t enter your practice space.
Some practice in front of their computer (DAW) backing tracks etc.
But sometimes shutting down the computer and focusing on your session can make a difference. A metronome, looper or bass line or backing track might be useful.
4 – Everything You Need Should Be In Your Space
Have everything you need ready so practise is not interrupted by you needing go and find something, a book, a plectrum, an effects unit, tuner etc
Make a checklist so that you can check it and make sure all you need is there before you start.
5 – People Must Respect Your Space
Get others to respect that it’s your time to focus and practise so it can be done without interruption from anyone.
6 – YOU Must Respect Your Space
keep your space clean and well organized all the time!
Put everything away so that the next time you practice, it is more inviting to enter a clean space than a messy one.
